Eduardo Agliata, from Bellingham (and the Somerville, MA area) passed away on Monday, May 4th. He was 88. Born and raised in Castrofilippo, Sicily, he was the cherished son of the late Eduardo and Giuseppa (Trupia) Agliata. Eduardo met the love of his life, Graziella, and they married on November 20th, 1960. They moved to Belgium in 1965 and lived there until 1972.

Seeking the American dream, Eduardo and Graziella eventually settled with their children in Somerville. They shared their 65th wedding anniversary on November 20th, 2025, a milestone that many will not experience. Eduardo had a kind disposition, a heart made of gold and had a playful sense of humor. He was a dedicated family man. Eduardo was a devoted husband, a loving parent and a proud grandfather and great grandfather. Eduardo was an avid gardener and appreciated the true value of Graziella’s fresh italian food.

At the beginning of every meal he held up a glass of wine and would say, “Bon appetit.” The kitchen was the hearth of the house where he shared many experiences throughout the years. One of his fondest memories was growing fruits and vegetables in Italy and Belgium.

Eduardo was the beloved husband of 65 years to Graziella (Emmanule) Agliata. He was the devoted father of Josephine Messier and her husband Mark, and Salvatore Agliata and his wife Antonella. He was the loving Nonno of Michael, Chantel, Vanessa, Gabriella and the late Cassandra. He was the caring Great Nonno of Sophia and Juliana. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. Medford, on Monday, May 11th from 4 to 8 PM and again on Tuesday morning at 9 AM followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Ann Church, 399 Medford St., Somerville, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden
