Shawn Sisson - beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, hospitality professional, and unforgettable personality - passed away on April 1, 2026 in Seattle, WA.
Born in Massachusetts, Shawn carried his East Coast spirit, quick wit, and generous heart with him throughout his life. His career in hospitality reflected his natural gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and entertained. He worked in restaurants early on and later found his Seattle community while working aboard small passenger cruise ships, where he built lasting friendships and became part of a close-knit maritime family.
Over the years, Shawn shared his talents across restaurants, hotels, catering, and funeral service. He even owned his own catering company for a time. No matter the setting, he brought warmth, humor, and genuine care to the people around him.
Shawn will be remembered as loving, hilarious, sassy, fiercely loyal, and truly one of a kind. His legendary sense of humor and ability to make others feel seen and valued left a lasting impression on everyone lucky enough to know him.
He is deeply missed by the family he was born into on the East Coast, as well as the family he made on the West Coast in Seattle, and by all whose lives were made brighter by his presence. His legacy lives on in the laughter he sparked and the deep friendships he cherished.
Shawn is survived by his father, Kendall C. Sisson of Cheshire, MA; sisters Lynn Jodoin of Fairhaven, Wendy Allison of New Bedford, Lisa McCra of New Bedford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother, Natalie A. (Travers) Sisson, sister, Robin, and brother, Peter.
A graveside service will be announced at a later date.
