Obituary

Lidia B. Ayala de Hernandez, 94, of Worcester died Saturday, April 25th at home surrounded by her loving family.
Her husband of 47 years, Manuel A. Hernandez died in 2007. She leaves six children, Ana Perez, Guadalupe Reyes, Vilma Ceron, Carlos Hernandez, Rosa M. Lima and Zaida Melendez all of Worcester; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Manuel Hernandez and six siblings.
Lidia was born in Tecoluca, San Vicente, El Salvador, and immigrated to the United States with her family in 1987, beginning a new chapter rooted in faith, resilience, and love. She was a devoted member of Centro Cristiano Betesda, where her faith was an important part of her life. Lidia had a true passion for cooking and found great joy in preparing meals for others, always making sure everyone around her was well fed and cared for. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, generosity, and togetherness.
Above all, Lidia cherished the time she spent with her family. She especially loved being surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and love. She will be remembered for her kindness, her nurturing spirit, and the deep love she shared with those closest to her.
Calling hours are Sunday, May 3rd from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. The family will gather on Monday, May 4th in the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. followed by her graveside service at 11:00 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
