LACONIA ---- John “Nick” D. Nikolais, Jr., 69, passed away peacefully on Friday April 10, 2026 at Concord Hospital – Laconia NH after a period of declining health.
John was born on January 4, 1957, in Hartford, CT, to the late Jacqueline W. Nikolais (Lowe) and John D. Nikolais, Sr.
Nick was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the 1st Battalion, 31st Infantry Regiment, stationed at the Korean Demilitarized Zone in 1975 before relocating to the Lakes Region. John was a painter by trade for most of his life. He also enjoyed camping, kayaking, fishing, and riding his motorcycle.
He is survived by his daughter, Karla Lutz, his grandchildren, Abrianna and Jadyn of Franklin, NH, and his 3 great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Nikolais, sister Cindy Payette and his nieces and nephews.
His family will remember him with love.
