
Zyhra Demiri, 66, of Worcester died Wednesday, April 22nd in UMASS Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus. She leaves her husband of 42 years, Osman Dmiri; her two children Erisilda Lico and her husband, Redi, Flobenc Demiri all of Worcester; a brother, Adem Avdolli and his wife, Tatjana of Tirana, Albania; two grandchildren, Brianna and Nicholas. She was also predeceased by a son, Flobenc.
She was the daughter of Ymer and Vlefta (Tahirillari) Avdolli. Born in Albania, Zyhra later made her home in the United States, immigrating in 2017 in search of new opportunities and a brighter future.
Zyhra was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent the past three years working at Dunkin’ Donuts at WPI, where she was known for her warm presence and kind smile. She took pride in her work and built meaningful connections with both her coworkers and the many people she served each day.
In her free time, Zyhra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved watching Turkish movies, often becoming immersed in their stories and characters. She also enjoyed reading and had a special talent in the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared traditional Albanian dishes. Among her favorites to make and share was baklava, a sweet treat that brought comfort and happiness to those around her.
Above all, Zyhra cherished her family and the time she spent with them. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her resilience, and the love she gave so freely.
She leaves behind her beloved family and friends, both here in the United States and in Albania, who will miss her deeply.
Calling hours are Saturday, April 25th from 8:30 until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by burial in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street.
