DUDLEY – Barbara A. (Plante) Jourdenais, died Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Her husband of 50 years, Charles E. “Chuck” Jourdenais, died in 2019.
She leaves a daughter, Kristin L. Mayotte and her husband Michael of Dudley; a step-daughter, Shari Carrington and her husband Chris of Southbridge; a step daughter-in-law, Karen Jourdenais, also of Southbridge; five grandchildren, Bradley Mayotte, Jason Mayotte, Steven Carrington and his wife Heather, Brian Carrington and his wife Lauren, and Corinne Jourdenais; two great-grandsons, Roman and Bennett; a brother, Ronald Plante and his wife Charlotte of Webster; 2 nephews, Michael Plante of Webster and Alan Plante and his wife Andrea of Holliston and their children, Oliver and Lauren. She was preceded in death by her stepson Mark J. Jourdenais in 2022.
She was born at home in Dudley on June 4, 1940, the daughter of Frederick and Josephine (Vengryn) Plante and graduated from Bartlett High School in 1958. She resided in Webster for many years before returning to Dudley after her husband’s death.
Mrs. Jourdenias was a data entry clerk in the Webster School System Special Education Department for 25 years, retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed making crafts and going to craft shows as well as crocheting. She kept in touch with members of her graduating class and enjoyed reunions. Her life centered on her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, April 25, at 10:00 AM in the Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
