It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Edward Dunn on April 18, 2026, at the age of 65. Michael was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend, whose humility, generosity, and quick-witted humor touched everyone who knew him.
Born on December 16, 1960 in New London, Connecticut to the late Elizabeth and Vincent Dunn, Michael grew up in Malden, Massachusetts. He later married his wife, Diane and settled in Methuen, Massachusetts, where they raised their daughters. Michael spent 38 loyal years at Fidelity Investments, retiring from his role as Director of Compliance in 2021. He was a devout Catholic, movie-enjoyer, home cook, and loved vacationing on the Jersey shore with his family and playing volleyball with his daughters in the backyard. He was a golfer and an avid runner, running several races and half-marathons before his cancer diagnosis in 2016. However, nothing could stop his love for the Fighting Irish and Boston sports, always reminiscing on past championships and the Celtics dynasty, even attending the ‘86 championship game. After 10 long years of health struggles, he passed peacefully alongside his family.
Michael is survived by his devoted wife, Diane Dunn of Reading, and his two daughters, Emily Chaffee and her husband Dalton Chaffee of Boston, and Hallie Dunn of San Diego.
He was a beloved brother to Vincent (Maureen) Dunn of Knoxville, the late Richard (Janet) Dunn of Plymouth, Kathleen (James) Dunn of Salem, Stephen (Gianna) Dunn of Everett, and William (Nzinga) Dunn of Melrose.
Michael was a loving uncle to ten nieces and nephews, as well as ten great-nieces and nephews.
His gentle nature and joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
