Our beloved mother, Margaret Mary Damatin, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, at the age of 98. She was born on January 5th, 1928, in County Louth, Ireland to Andrew and Margaret Donegan, eventually moving to County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Known to everyone as Peg, she devoted her life to her family and her faith, raising two children, and helped in raising three grandchildren. For over 40 years she was a devote member of Saint Brigid’s Church in South Boston. She enjoyed reading the paper, weekly Bingo, and Word Search puzzles. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Bill, and survived by her children, William and his wife Kathleen of Braintree, Robert and his wife Linda of Dorchester, Grandchildren Christopher, Julia, and Liley. Her sisters Angela Kane of Dedham, and, Bridie Reddington and Shelia Leonard, both of Leeds, England. On April 22, 2026, visiting hours will be held at Casper Funeral Home 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston from 9 AM to 11AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Brigid’s Church 841 East Broadway, South Boston at 11:30.
