Raquel Maria (Reis) Bailey, 57

Dateline: Taunton, MA

Raquel Maria (Reis) Bailey, age 57, of Taunton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. She was the beloved wife of Christopher W. Bailey, with whom she shared over 30 years together and recently celebrated 22 years of marriage on April 10th.

Born in Terceira, Azores on January 6, 1969, she was a loving daughter of the late Antonio Sousa Reis and Maria Natalia (daSilva) Reis.

Raquel grew up in Taunton, where she graduated from Bristol-Plymouth Regional Technical High School, Class of 1987 and later made her home there, building a life centered around faith, family, and togetherness.

A dedicated homemaker, Raquel’s greatest joy came from caring for her family. Family meant everything to her. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, whether it meant offering a ride or opening her home to others.

Raquel loved bringing her family together and was happiest when hosting holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, as well as summer barbeques at her home. She was a proud member of the New England Viking Motorcycle Club and deeply valued Sunday dinners with her family. She enjoyed crafting, gardening when she was able, and documenting special moments and family events. She was known for always having something cooking whenever you stopped by. She also loved board games, especially cribbage, where her competitive spirit always showed.

She was a member of Christ the Rock Assembly of God in Fall River and generously gave her time to Gates of Hope in New Bedford. Raquel also enjoyed traveling and checking off items on her bucket list, including memorable motorcycle trips over 6,000 miles across the country with her husband Chris, to destinations including New Mexico, Bardstown, Kentucky, and Lake George, New York. One of those trips included a snowball fight on the side of the highway in New Mexico in 70-degree weather-a moment that will always be remembered.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted children: Samantha Baganha and her boyfriend Jarad Pierce of Taunton, Amanda Carraturo and her husband Ben of Taunton, Ryan Bailey and his fiancé, Ellena Boelke of Pembroke, Heather Bailey and her boyfriend, Trey Iyamu of Taunton and Reis Bailey of Taunton. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of Dominic Carraturo and had a special place in her heart for her beloved grand dog, Marley.

Visiting hours are omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend her funeral service on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Christ the Rock Assembly of God, 414 Rock Street, Fall River, followed by a Celebration of Life downstairs.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing, may remember Raquel with a donation in her memory made to Mission Activities, at Christ the Rock Assembly of God, 414 Rock Street, Fall River, MA 02720 in recognition of the time and care she devoted there.
