Obituary

Edward “Eddie” Fielding III
April 12, 1941 – April 16, 2026
STANDISH- Edward “Eddie” Fielding III passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength,
devotion to family, and a life marked by service and simple joys.
Born on April 12, 1941, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Eddie was the son of Edward Fielding,
Jr. and Evelyn F. Thornton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in
death by his beloved wife of over 40 years, Barbara Fielding, as well as his brothers, Rene
Cogswell and Patrick Faucett. Eddie also had a special place in his heart for his many loyal
dogs, Teddy, Mugzi, Angel, Daisy, Ginger, and Chewy who were constant companions
throughout his life.
Eddie proudly served his country in the United States Navy, where he was honorably discharged
and awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Good
Conduct Medal (First Award). His time in the Navy reflected his sense of duty, discipline, and
quiet pride in serving others.
He was a man of simple pleasures and steady routines. Eddie found joy in building model trains
and airplanes, a hobby that reflected both his patience and attention to detail. He could often be
found outdoors, walking his dogs, enjoying the peace and rhythm of everyday life.
Above all, Eddie was a family man. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia Key and Kathleen
Faucett, who carry forward his strength and spirit. He also leaves behind his grandchildren,
Rachael Callis and Roxanne Walker, and his cherished great-grandchildren, Allison Kirby,
Megan Kirby, Jaden Callis, and Birdie Walker.
Eddie will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the quiet way he
showed up for those he loved. His life was one of dedication, resilience, and enduring love.
And in the end, we hold onto the words he so often said, simple and true, “See ya when I look at
ya.” It wasn’t just goodbye; it was a promise. So we carry that with us now, through the ache
and the remembering, trusting that this is not the end of the story. Until that moment comes,
we’ll keep him with us in the small things, in the quiet walks, in the love he left behind. And one
day, just as he always said… we’ll see ya when we look at ya, Eddie.
