Maria E. Calderon, born in Michoacán, Mexico, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family while in hospice care and strengthened by her Catholic faith.

Maria was the beloved wife of Jose Calderon, with whom she shared 64 years of a devoted and loving marriage. She was the heart of her family—a deeply loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was caring for and gathering her family.

She was the cherished mother of Gustavo (Lucy), Jose (Olga), Maria De La Luz (Amando), Angelica (Jesus), Blanca (Aurio), Maribel, Raul (Nirvana), daughter in law, Gabriela, and the late Sergio, Marcelo, and Ana. Maria’s love extended to her 21 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and nurtured with warmth, faith, and unwavering devotion.

She was the dear sister of Margarita, Eduardo, Teresa, Jorge, and the late Fernando and Alejandro. Maria is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved parents, Trinidad Garcia and Carmen Barajas; her children Sergio, Marcelo, and Ana; and her brothers Fernando and Alejandro.

A woman of deep faith and boundless love, Maria will be remembered for the way she brought her family together, her gentle strength, and the care she gave so freely to everyone around her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart. Additional parking is available at Five Holy Martyrs, 4327 S Richmond.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church, 2745 W 44th St. Following the Mass, interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Rd, Justice.



María E. Calderón, nacida en Michoacán, México, falleció en paz el jueves 16 de abril de 2026, rodeada del amor de su familia mientras se encontraba en cuidado de hospicio y fortalecida por su fe católica.

María fue la amada esposa de José Calderón, con quien compartió 64 años de un matrimonio lleno de amor y devoción. Fue el corazón de su familia—una madre, abuela y bisabuela profundamente amorosa, cuya mayor alegría en la vida fue cuidar y reunir a los suyos.

El amor de María se extendió a sus 21 nietos y 3 bisnietos, a quienes adoró y cuidó con ternura, fe y una devoción inquebrantable.

Fue la querida hermana de Margarita, Eduardo, Teresa, Jorge, y de sus difuntos hermanos Fernando y Alejandro. María se reúne en el descanso eterno con sus amados padres, Trinidad García y Carmen Barajas; sus hijos Sergio, Marcelo y Ana; y sus hermanos Fernando y Alejandro.

Mujer de profunda fe y amor infinito, María será recordada por la manera en que unía a su familia, por su fortaleza serena y por el cariño que brindó generosamente a todos a su alrededor.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 23 de abril de 2026, de 1:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m., en Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home, 4256 S Mozart. Habrá estacionamiento adicional disponible en Five Holy Martyrs, 4327 S Richmond.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará a las 10:30 a.m. el viernes 24 de abril de 2026 en la Iglesia Immaculate Conception, 2745 W 44th St. Al finalizar la misa, se procederá al entierro en Resurrection Cemetery, 7201 Archer Rd, Justice.
