
MILLBURY – Joanne Ciuchta, 75, died Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in UMass at Harrington after an illness.
She leaves 2 sisters, Suzanne Johnson and Christine Ciuchta; her boyfriend Bernie Ditto of Dudley; her long-time friend George Kariuki, also of Dudley; and her fellow residents and caregivers in Millbury.
She was born on January 5, 1951 in Webster, a daughter of Constant and Genevieve (Witkowski) Ciuchta. She lived in Webster before moving to Millbury.
Joanne worked as a packager at Life Skills in Webster for many years.
“Miss Joanne Ciuchta,” as she wanted to be addressed, enjoyed polka dancing and all things Polish, especially going to Polish festivals in the Webster area of many years. She looked forward to vacationing in the White Mountains, the Poconos and at Cape Cod. She had wonderful memories of her trip to Kenya. She liked to go walking, drawing color pictures and being in fashion with purses and shoes.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, May 1, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, Webster, with a Mass at noon in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street, Webster. Entombment will be in the Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Columbarium, Webster. Memorial calling hours will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 on Friday, May 1, in the funeral home prior to the Mass.
