Donald “Don” Auger, a lifelong resident of Manchester, passed away on April 15, 2026, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on August 9, 1941, to Fridolin and Laurette Auger. He graduated from Bishop Bradley High School and then served in the Army National Guard and U.S. Army. He then went on to work for, and retire from, the Manchester Highway Department. He next worked for the Department of Defense as a Military Entrance Processing Station tester and then as a supply clerk at Fort Devens. He was active in the Boy scouts of America when his family was young. He enjoyed vacationing with his large extended family. His hobbies included a love of golf and he was most proud of his two holes-in-one. In addition to his love of golf, he loved going to the casinos. His silly sense of humor was loved by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Paulette (Raiche), his daughter Cindy Fort (Jay), Daniel Auger (Gail), and Kelly Auger-Foti (Joseph). He was pre-deceased by his son Donald “Donny”. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Nicholas, Justin, Chelsie, Abigail, Michael, Steven, Rebecca, Cameron, and Reagan. As well as seven great grandchildren: Cole, Brooks, Miles, Brynn, Andie, Aston, and Vanna. and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visiting with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him endless joy. The joy in his heart while visiting with them was always apparent in his smile.

Service will be at St. Catherine of Siena on May 7, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. Prior to the Mass of Christian burial, there will be calling hours from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. for guests to pay their respects. Please enter the side entrance in the parking lot.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Elliot Hospital Hospice VNA or to the charity of one's choice.
