Tommie “LaTrelle” Dukes Cheek, 85, of Tifton passed away Sunday, April 12, 2026, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Elder Lee Chambers officiating. Mrs. Cheek will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens with Jeremy Moore officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Cal Cheek, Jamie McBryant, Randy Carter, C. B. Mathis, Bobby Mathis and David Clements will serve as pallbearers.
Born March 17, 1941, in Atkinson County, Mrs. Cheek was the daughter of the late Thomas Dukes and Bennie Mae Leavens Dukes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Emory Cheek, Sr.; one son, Joseph Emory Cheek, Jr.; and one brother, T. L. Dukes. Before retiring, she was an Inventory Clerk in the Procurement Office at ABAC; and she was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed traveling and watching University of Georgia football games.
Mrs. Cheek is survived by one daughter, Emily Cheek of Tifton; a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Hogan Cheek Fitzgerald of Abbeville; two grandchildren, Calvin Emory Cheek and his wife Amanda and Amanda Cheek McBryant and her husband Jamie; three great-grandchildren, Rylan Cheek, Remington Lee Cheek and McKenzie McBryant; and three nieces, Sueleen Saunders, Anita Cheek White and Kemberly Carter.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
