Roberta K. (Nordberg, Bachman) MacIntosh
4/10/2026

Roberta Kay MacIntosh (Nordberg, Bachman) passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026 in Mashpee MA. A Mansfield native, “Bobbie” was born at home on Angel St on Christmas Eve 1936. She liked to joke that her birth date helped her learn the 12 times table. She was the 3rd of 6 children born to Roy and Olive (Partington) Nordberg and graduated with the Mansfield High School class of 1954.

Bobbie grew up in a little house by the woods on Highland Ave and developed a lifelong love of nature walks and gardening. She was hiking around the Grand Canyon, Bryce and Zion with 2 of her daughters at age 82. If not outside, she could often be found indoors sewing, crocheting and creating beautiful, often whimsical, works of art.

Bobbie married her beloved James G. Bachman in 1956 and together they raised their 5 children on Branch St in Mansfield. They made a great team and loved to dance, particularly the jitterbug. Jim encouraged her to pursue a college degree and she graduated from Massasoit Community College in 1983, first in her class of 807, majoring in Data Processing. Sadly, Jim passed away in 1986, a devastating loss that Bobbie carried with grace and strength.

Bobbie eventually found a new love and married Roland Macintosh in 1991. They retired to Bourne MA and spent winters in Englewood FL until Roland’s passing in 2014. She was a loving stepmother/grandmother to Roland’s son James MacIntosh and daughter Debra DeSantis (deceased) and their children: Michael and Steven MacIntosh and Wade DeSantis and Tara Houle.

Bobbie is survived by her sisters Joyce Mowatt (Ray) of Jacksonville FL and Gail Kerrigan of Norton MA. She was predeceased by her siblings Roy and Gerald Nordberg and Elaine Rock of Norton. She will be deeply missed by her 5 children: Sandra Bachman of Boston; James R Bachman (Cynthia) of Marshfield; Nancy Urbon (Thomas, deceased) of Marstons Mills; Patricia Nebhut (Barry) of Austin TX; and Kathleen Powers (Scott) of Douglasville GA. And by her 9 grandchildren: James, Andrew, Alex Bachman, Glenne Jackson; Matthew Urbon; Sarah and Andrea Nebhut; and Scott and Brooke Powers. She was dear Nana Bobbie to Monica Gallagher and Jennifer Beucler whom she welcomed into her heart and home as beloved family when Nancy married Tom and took great delight in each of the 7 beautiful children born between them.

Bobbie had deep faith and was actively involved in parish life at St. Mary’s in Mansfield and then St. John the Evangelist in Pocasset and did her best to help out anyone in need. She deeply loved her large extended family and many cherished friends. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Bridges by Epoch in Mashpee for their loving care over the past year. Bobbie loved you dearly.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 14th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

Her Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 15th at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
