Rhomelle Echols Reaves, 83, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 9, 2026, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family requests friends who wish to visit at the home do so after Sunday due to a family wedding.
Mrs. Reaves was born May 27, 1942, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Walter Edward & Florene Dobbins Echols. She was a 1960 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She worked for Link Realty, Jolly Jeweler and W.C. Hinton, Inc. She was a wonderful mother and a doting grandmother who cared deeply for her family and her animals. She enjoyed working in her yard as well. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children: Lisa Reaves Harbuck of Fitzgerald, Lena & Ed Wynn of Fitzgerald and Todd & Suzanne Reaves of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Leah Harrell, Wesley Harbuck & Courtney, Will Reaves & Caroline Best, Paige Puckett & Chris, Jay Reaves and Walt Howell; great-grandchildren: Stella Harrell, Aubree Harbuck, Mary Claire Harbuck, Ella Harbuck and one on the way; and a sister-in-law, Ellene Echols of Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Buck Reaves and a brother, James Echols.
The family wishes to acknowledge sitters Connie Heggs and Dena Young for the wonderful care given to their mother.
