Vasilios Lambropoulos (Vasili, Bill, Billy), 77, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, April 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Susan (McLaughlin) Lambropoulos, to whom he was married for 45 years, and the loving and devoted father of Kristen (Lambropoulos) Dunmead and Nicole (Lambropoulos) Anderson.
Vasilios was born in Sparta, Greece, on October 4, 1948, the cherished son of the late Konstantinos and Chrysoula (Minakakis) Lambropoulos. He served in the Greek Air Force for two years, from age 18 to 20, and moved to Boston in 1971 at the age of 23. In 1980, he settled in Mansfield, where he raised his daughters. Vasilios and his two brothers owned the Fisherman’s Restaurant in Walpole. He later owned his own restaurant, Kristen’s Cafeteria, located in his wife Susan’s office building. He went on to work at the Common Eatery in Foxboro for many years before retiring after 20 years in maintenance at the Village of Willow Crossing in Mansfield. He was an avid gardener who loved cooking and baking for his family, teaching his daughters his favorite recipes, spending time with his grandchildren, and helping his daughters and their husbands with projects and home repairs. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and visiting the casino. Vasilios is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Lambropoulos of Mansfield; his devoted daughters, Kristen Dunmead and her husband, Ryan, of Easton, and Nicole Anderson and her husband, Mike, of Easton; and his cherished grandchildren, Colin and Courtney Dunmead, and Austin and Benjamin Anderson, who proudly called him Papou. He was the dear brother of Yanni Lambropoulos and his wife, Diane, of Norton, and Nicholas Lambropoulos and his wife, Rena, of Florida, and the late Antonia Vasilakos and survived by her husband, Ilias, of Mansfield. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him “Uncle Billy.” Until we meet again, s’agapo poli.
