Robert E. Burt, age 74, most recently of Foxborough, a former longtime resident of Bridgewater and Mansfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Bear Hill Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Stoneham.
Born in Brockton, MA on June 3, 1951, he was a loving son of the late Donald L. and Edna “Peg” (Ellis) Burt.
Bob grew up in Mansfield and was a 1969 graduate of Mansfield High School. He continued his studies, earning an Associate’s Degree from Bryant & Stratton Junior College and later a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Roger Williams College.
For thirty years, prior to retiring, Mr. Burt was the proud owner and operator of his own tax accounting service in Bridgewater. He loved spending time with his adoring family, especially his grandchildren and his good friends alike. He was actively involved as a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Bridgewater and his hobbies included dancing and bowling.
He was the devoted and loving father of Lizzie A. Veaner and her husband Zachary of Melrose and the late Katie M. Burt. He was the cherished and proud grandfather of Ruth and Nolan, the dear brother of Alice Hill and her husband Gerald of Exeter, New Hampshire, Edna Fuller and her husband Thomas of Foxborough and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, April 6th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 7th at 10:00 A.M. in the Trinity Episcopal Church 91 Main Street in Bridgewater. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
