CHICOPEE – Mario G. Levesque, 75, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, March 27, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at Holyoke Medical Center in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born on October 25, 1950 in Drummondville, Province of Quebec, Canada, a beloved son of the late Leo and Lorraine (Lynch) Levesque. At the age of five, he immigrated with his family to the United States and had lived in the North End of Springfield before moving to Chicopee in 1974. He was employed as a finish carpenter locally for many years. He was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During his leisure time, he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing and hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Denise G. (Levesque) Levesque. They were married on July 5, 1969 at Eglisse de Saint Gabriel in Saint Gabriel, Province of Quebec, Canada and were blessed with over 56 years of happiness together. He also leaves his three loving children, Daniel N. Levesque of Canada, Michael M. Levesque and his partner, Kiki Mallett, of Holyoke and Rachel D. Levesque and her partner, Jay Vermette, of Holyoke; his three cherished grandchildren, Desiree Levesque and her partner, Jay Kelly, Jayden Levesque and Emmitt Varnum; his two cherished great grandchildren, Lily and Jason; his four dear sisters, Cathy Winters, Nicole Levesque, Mary Levesque, Louise Levesque; his dear brother, Norman Levesque; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends in the United States and Canada. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his cherished grandson, Danny Levesque; his dear brother, Andre Levesque; and his dear sister, France Talbot. His funeral services and burial will be private. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family requests that memorial donations be made in his memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
