Matthew Roy Darling, age 32, was born on May 18, 1993 to Ken Darling and the late Judy Darling. He was a lifelong resident of Norton and passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.. He graduated from Norton High School in 2012, and then attended Bristol Community College.
Matt enjoyed music, often singing along with every word of the song, listening to podcasts, anything having to do with Sci-fi, food and cooking. He especially enjoyed lively debates with anyone brave enough to take him on. He was a computer wizard; the computer was his life.
Matthew leaves behind his doting father, who was his best friend, Ken’s wife Barbara, his beautiful younger sister, Sarah Darling from New Bedford and a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Matthew was so fortunate to have an incredible team of caretakers; nurses and personal care assistants, which allowed him to stay at home with his family as he valiantly struggled with a horrific debilitating disease. In lieu of flowers, people may donate to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Chateau Restaurant at 48 Bay Road in Norton, MA on Sunday, April 12 from 1:00 pm - 5:00pm. Please join us and share your memories with us, as we reflect on this courageous young man.
