SANDRA KAY (GOOD) MOUNTAIN OBITUARY

Sandra Kay (Good) Mountain, 77, of Cookport, PA passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026. She was known and loved by many, and leaves a void in this world that will never be filled.

Sandy was born September 18, 1948, the only daughter of Gilbert and Mae (Edwards) Good. She was a 1966 graduate from Penns Manor High School, where she worked for several years as an administrative secretary.

In 1970, she married Jerry Earl Mountain and together they raised a family, as Sandy devoted herself as a stay-at-home wife and mother, modeling a life of love and service to the Lord.

Sandy was known for her joy, her bright outlook, her baking, and her many crafting skills—particularly in quilting and card making. Her creations became a treasured outreach to others.

In 2021, Sandy was stricken by a rare condition known as acute transverse myelitis, which stole her ability to walk, but not her determination or her love of God, life, and others. She was recognized in the community as she traveled in her beloved “Clifford”—the big red van—as she continued to attend church and family and community events.

Sandy leaves behind her high school sweetheart and loving husband of 56 years, Jerry, and their three children: Kerri; Connie (Chad) Bothell of Indiana, PA; and Jeffrey (Amy Faust) Mountain of Cherry Tree. She also leaves behind her dearly loved grandchildren: McKenna, Silas, and Rhett Bothell, and Jakob, Anthony, and Maria Mountain.

Sandy is survived by a brother, Leroy, and was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Terry Good. She leaves behind a multitude of cousins, friends, and family who delighted and supported her in her challenges.
Sandy and family are especially thankful for the love and support of her church family at Dixonville Wesleyan Church, the caring staff at Indian Haven where she spent her last five years, and the wonderful nurses at IRMC 4th and 6th Floor.

Visitation will be held at Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA on Thursday, March 26, 2026 from 2-6:00 p.m. and will continue on Friday, March 27, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home conducted by her dear Pastor Paul Wallace, a constant support. Interment will be at East Mahoning Cemetery, Purchase Line, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to: Dixonville Wesleyan Church, 233 Purchase Line Road, Clymer, PA 15728.
