GRANBY – Jeannette A. “Jan” (Laverdiere) Boczon, 101, of Granby, was Called Safely Home on Monday, March 23, 2026. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on July 13, 1924, a beloved daughter of the late Arthur and Laura (Phaneuf) Laverdiere. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and had moved to Granby in 1952. She was employed as a machine operator at the former National Blank Book Company in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Granby and was a member of the Granby Senior Center, the American Legion Auxiliary in Granby, the South Hadley Chorale and was a longtime volunteer at the Veterans Home in Holyoke. During her leisure time, she enjoyed painting, crocheting, sewing and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore Boczon who was Called Home on June 5, 2004. She leaves her loving daughter, Christine L. “Tina” Lucier of Chicopee; her two cherished grandsons, Matthew J. Lucier and his wife, Telitha, of Northfield and Steven G. Lucier of Kissimmee, FL; her dear brother in law, William Bacon of Clearwater, FL; and her many dear nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her three dear brothers, Hector Laverdiere and his wife, Jeanne D’Arc, Robert Laverdiere and his wife, Barbara, and Maurice Laverdiere and his wife, Claire; and her dear sister, Lillian Bacon. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 9 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will be private at Precious Blood Cemetery in South Hadley. Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to her Mass.
