Doriela Barrera, age 46, born in Chicago, Illinois passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026.

Beloved daughter of Margarita Cortina and the late Antonio Barrera, Doriela was a loving sister to Alicia, Elvia, Antonio, and Osvaldo. She was cherished by her family, who remained a constant source of love and care throughout her life.

Doriela lived her life with quiet strength and resilience. Though she carried lifelong challenges, she faced them with a gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on those around her. In her own way, she reflected a profound patience and humility, reminding others of the beauty found in compassion and enduring love.

We take comfort in our faith, trusting that Doriela has been called home into the loving embrace of God, where suffering is no more and peace is eternal. May she rest in His mercy and light.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home. Additional parking is available at Five Holy Martyrs Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Following the Mass, we will proceed to Saint Casimir Cemetery for interment.

Amada hija de Margarita Cortina y del difunto Antonio Barrera, Doriela fue una querida hermana de Alicia, Elvia, Antonio y Osvaldo. Fue profundamente apreciada por su familia, quienes fueron una fuente constante de amor y cuidado a lo largo de su vida.

Doriela vivió su vida con una fortaleza tranquila y una gran resiliencia. Aunque enfrentó desafíos desde temprana edad, los llevó con un espíritu noble y sereno que dejó una huella en quienes la conocieron. A su manera, reflejaba una profunda paciencia y humildad, recordándonos el valor de la compasión y el amor perseverante.

Nos consuela nuestra fe al confiar en que Doriela ha sido llamada al encuentro con Dios, donde ya no existe el sufrimiento y la paz es eterna. Que descanse en Su misericordia y en Su luz.

El velorio se llevará a cabo el jueves 26 de marzo de 2026, de 3:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., en Ocwieja-Robles Funeral Home. Habrá estacionamiento adicional en Five Holy Martyrs Catholic Church.

La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el viernes 27 de marzo de 2026 a las 10:30 a.m. en Immaculate Conception Church. Al concluir la misa, se procederá al entierro en Saint Casimir Cemetery.
