
EAST WATERBORO- Thomas Miller, age 76, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, at the Maine Veterans Home. A resident of East Waterboro, he will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to others.
Thomas was born in Portland in 1948. He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard out of New London, Connecticut, during the Vietnam War, reflecting his deep sense of duty and commitment.
Following his service, Thomas built a long and accomplished career. He spent many years in management with McDonald’s, where he was known for his leadership and strong work ethic. He later transitioned into hotel management, continuing to connect with and serve people from all walks of life. He concluded his professional journey with the American Red Cross, where his compassion and desire to help others truly shined.
Tom had a deep love for the outdoors and adventure. He enjoyed hiking and camping in the White Mountains, where he found peace and joy in nature. He also loved taking cruises, photography and traveling, always looking forward to his next journey and the memories it would bring. He also enjoyed the occasional casino trip, which added a bit of fun and excitement to his travels.
Thomas will be remembered for his sense of humor and the jokes he shared with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His warm heart, generous spirit, and ability to make others feel welcome and valued left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Miller; his daughter, Michelle Turgeon and her husband Jim; his cherished grandchildren, Ryleigh, Wyatt, Jayden, and Anthony; and his sisters, Ida Engelman and Barbara Harris. They, along with many friends, will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.
He was predeceased by his mother, Bertha Miller; his father, Louis Miller; and his brother, Donald Miller.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will be held on March 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM at Summit Community Church, 26 Cressey Road, Gorham, ME.
