Obituary

Worcester – David M. Stone, 28, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

David was born in Worcester and attended Our Lady of the Angels Elementary School, Sullivan Middle School and then went to South High Community School graduating in 2015 and then attended UMASS Boston. He enjoyed cooking and was a chef at Worcester State University, Sterling International Country Club and was currently working for the College of the Holy Cross in their dining services department full time for the past 7 years.

David is survived by his loving parents, Michael and Christine (Senkavitch) Stone with whom he lived. He also leaves behind his paternal grandmother, Janice (Paul) Stone of Oxford; an aunt, Gloriann McCullough and husband Graham; three uncles, Jeffrey Stone and wife Robyn, Kevin Stone and Stephen Stone and wife Melanie, as well as many cousins. He is predeceased by a half-sister, Amanda Stone, an uncle, George Senkavitch, maternal grandparents George and Olga Senkavitch and paternal grandfather Donald Stone.

David started playing tennis at a young age and volunteered for many years at the Greendale YMCA and also taught at their summer camp. At the age of 15 he was nominated and chosen to represent United States of America YMCA in a World event in the country of Prague. He was an avid tennis player and played both while he was at South High School and at the Greendale YMCA. He also enjoyed playing racquetball with his mother, he was an excellent golfer and pickleball player. In his younger years, David was active in both Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, but he was never too old to use his imagination to make something with Legos. David liked to travel, he was an avid cruiser and looked forward to camping trips, family vacations and the occasional visit to casinos.

Thanks to his years as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout he was a camper’s friend, helping whenever needed. He will be missed dearly by his cousins and his camping friends who looked forward to his visits.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 10 AM to 12 PM with a funeral service to be held at 12 PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons – Henry Funeral Service Memorial Chapel 33 Ward St. Worcester. In the spirit of David always wanting to help those that were less fortunate, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in his memory to the Saint John’s Food for the Poor Program 44 Temple Street Worcester, MA 01604.
