If anyone found themselves down on their luck, if they needed anyone to root for them, if they were going through the toughest times of their lives and they needed someone on their side, they needed to look no further than Mark Collard. Mark had a special place in his heart for anyone who was struggling, anyone who had been beaten down by life, anyone who was the underdog. Anyone who fit that description only needed to know one thing - Mark Collard was in their corner. You could always count on Mark to be there for you. Mark would lift you up - whether that meant physically or on a deeper level emotionally or spiritually, any way you needed lifting, Mark Collard would be there for you.
Mark G. Collard, 45, of Woonsocket died Sunday March 15th, 2026 at home. Mark was the loving companion of Jennifer Thomas and the son of Elizabeth Collard and Mark Darling and his wife Michelle Darling all of Woonsocket. Mark was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mark was skilled at working with computers and electronics. He was handy with automotive skills while fixing cars.
Mark was an enthusiastic fan of mixed martial arts (MMA) matches while cheering on those who chose to participate in such a challenging and demanding intense sport of combat.
Mark loved to listen to any and all music that spoke to his soul.
The center of Mark’s world was his family. His love and loyalty for his family and friends was boundless and unflinching. He especially loved his nieces and nephews and all those closest to his heart.
Mark’s family takes special comfort in the fact that he is now eternally reunited in heaven with his late brother Matthew Collard who passed away in 2003.
As we’ve mentioned earlier, Mark was a champion supporter for any and all people who worked hard and gave it their all. People who gave everything they’ve got to live everyday with sobriety. Mark knew their struggle and did everything he could to help with some of the burden. “One day at a time!” that was the message Mark Collard lived by.
Mark will be remembered for his positive look on life and his hopeful and happy spirit. Mark’s memory will live forever in the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to know him and call him a friend.
Mark is survived by his son Matthew Collard. He was the brother of Brian Collard, Monty Gauvin, Sabrina Cartier and Tiffany Darling all of Woonsocket. Mark is also survived by his extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Everyone is welcome to gather to honor, remember and pray for Mark and recognize and celebrate his life and all he stood for at visiting hours on Sunday March 22nd from 3:00-6:00 pm at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket. Mark will be laid to rest at a later date.
