DUDLEY – Charotte J. (Kondek) Carpick, 98, died peacefully Thursday, March 12, 2026, after a period of declining health. Her beloved husband of 69 years, Louis J. Carpick, died in 2020.
She leaves a sister, Genevieve K. Pioppi and her husband N. William Pioppi of Sturbridge, several nieces, nephews, grandnephews, great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Charles, Louis, Walter, John and Henry Kondek and by 3 sisters, Stasia Balkurna, Josephine Grzych and Joan Lesniewski.
She was born at home on August 18, 1927, the daughter of Stanislaw and Franciszka (Nycek) Kondek and lived in Dudley most of her life.
Mrs. Carpick was a lens inspector for 39 years at the former American Optical Company in Southbridge, retiring in 1985. She was a member of its Quarter Century Club.
She was a communicant of Saint Andrew Bobola Church and belonged to the former Holy Rosary Sodality for many years.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 21, at 11:00 AM in Saint Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street (please meet at the church). Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. Donations in her name may be made to Saint Joseph Elementary School, 47 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski, Malboeuf & Hickey Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster.
