Robert Michael Wilson, 53, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence. Known to all as “BDUB”, he was the son of Edward H. Wilson of Wittinsville, Massachusetts, and the late Marie Corrine Banville, who passed away in December of 1990. He was a lifelong resident of Woonsocket until recently moving to Cumberland. Robert was a graduate of Woonsocket High School with the class of 1990.
Over the years, he worked for Gladu Company, Lombard Equipment Company, and the City of Woonsocket Department of Public Works. He was employed for many years with Yarde Metals Company in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Robert took immense pride in being a homeowner. Among his many talents, he readily shared with those in his life was his culinary skills as a great cook. Robert loved music and was a staunch fan of all New England sports teams, especially the Patriots. He also participated in softball leagues and pool leagues. During Robert’s downtime, he loved watching CourtTV. His favorite trademark go-to food is a thin-crust mushroom pizza from Dominos. THE BEST!!!
Robert’s last selfless act of generosity to others was the “Gift of Life” as an organ donor. Robert will be remembered most of all for his love of his family and dear friends. His love and loyalty to them were unshakeable and unbreakable. Everyone who was lucky enough to know him will carry him in their hearts forever!
Robert is survived by his daughters, Kayla Marie Wilson and Corrina Marie Wilson, his grandsons Brayden Wilson and Zachary James-Robert Kelly. He was the brother of Lisa Marie Wilson and the late Edward “Chip” Wilson, who passed away in November of 1997, and the uncle of Tierra Marie Wilson and Jarvis Robert Edward Wilson, two great-nephews, Davon Wilson and Maverick Robert Edward Wilson, and a great-niece, Tionna Marie. He is also survived by his extended family of many cousins and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Robert’s life is being planned and will be announced at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in BDUB’s honor may be made to Community Care Alliance 800 Clinton St., Woonsocket, RI 02895 or www.communitycareri.org.
