
Joseph C. Goslin, 73, of Portsmouth, RI, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Newport Hospital. He was the son of the late Joseph A. and Margaret T. (Morin) Goslin.
Joe was born in Fall River and resided in Portsmouth for several years. Prior to retirement, he worked as a licensed electrician for New England Power Company following in his father’s footsteps. He was a member for over 50 years of the IBEW Local 437 of Fall River where he served in the roles of president and secretary. He was an avid golfer and fan of Boston sports. In earlier years he enjoyed skiing and sailing. When skiing the slopes of New Hampshire his family will fondly remember him as a founding member of their Secret Squirrel Society! All who knew Joe will remember him for his cooking skills, monopoly marathons, quick wit, love of music and most importantly, as a devoted father.
Survivors include his beloved daughter: Lannon K. Goslin of Westport; his siblings: Catherine Shockro of Mattapoisett, Marjorie Bobola and her husband Gary of Mattapoisett, Kevin Goslin and his wife Robin of Wrentham and Marybeth Ferrarini and her husband Andrew of Westport; along with 15 nieces and nephews; 15 great nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 20th from 5-7:30 P.M., at the Potter Funeral Home in Westport concluding with a prayer service at 7:30.
Friends and family are invited to join us for a celebration of Joe’s life at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth, RI on Saturday, March 21st at 4:00 P.M.
Interment will be private.
