GREAT BARRINGTON - Susan E. Quinn passed peacefully at the Rose Monahan Hospice Center in Worcester on March 11, 2026 after a brief illness.
She was born in Albany, NY the only daughter of Elizabeth (Von Volkenburg) Quinn and William J. Quinn. Her father was a prominent judge in the New York Court System and her mother worked at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA.
Susan had a long and successful career at Austen Riggs in Stockbridge, recently retiring. She also had private practice as a mental health/substance counselor. She was highly trained in Psychodrama for over 25 years and loved to travel and meet new people along the way. For a time, she lived in Manhattan, Colorado and St Croix.
She spoke often of lifetime friends she met. She had a home in Great Barrington, MA where she spent most of her life and participated in many great organizations and communities including Kindred Spirits and The Catwalk Connection. Through her love of tag sales, she fundraised for the Berkshire Humane Society, Starseed Sanctuary, Kindred Spirits Camp, Berkshire Botanical Gardens and other worthy organizations. She will be sorely missed by all her friends and especially her 2 cats, Gerry and Studly.
A celebration of her life on a day and time to be announced.
