Steven McCluskey, age 40, of South Boston, passed away on March 9, 2026.
Steven was known for his stubborn spirit, quick sense of humor, and deeply caring heart. He had a way of talking with people for hours, sharing stories, offering advice, and helping however he could. If something needed fixing or someone needed support, Steven was often the person people turned to.
A talented carpenter, Steven took great pride in his carpentry business and the work he built with his own hands. He loved creating things and took satisfaction in seeing a job through from start to finish. Above all, he loved being a father to his two sons, Shayne and Steven, who meant the world to him.
Steven also loved music, especially Eminem, and enjoyed the kind of conversations that could stretch late into the night. His loyalty, humor, and willingness to help others made a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Steven is survived by his mother Mary Flaherty and stepfather John Flaherty, and his father Stephen McCluskey. He is also survived by his siblings Shannon Flaherty, Shaun McDonald, Thomas Flaherty, and Matthew Flaherty. He was predeceased by his siblings Kevin McCluskey and Deborah McDonald.
Steven will be remembered for his humor, his generosity, and the countless conversations and memories he shared with those who loved him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visiting Hours will be held at the Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street in South Boston on Friday, March 13th, 2026 from 5 to 8pm. Interment Services will be private.
