Michael J. “Mike” Piemonte, 72, who was raised in Mattapan, Mass., and lived in North Attleboro, Mass., passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Mass., following a progressive illness. He was the beloved husband of Debbie J. (Romotsky) Piemonte, to whom he was married for nearly 36 years.
Mike is survived by his wife and two sons, Justin and Jeremy Piemonte, as well as by his Godmother, Marion Chillemi, and many cousins and longtime close friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Piemonte.
Born on Dec. 3, 1953, Mike was the son of the late Orsini “Joe” Piemonte and the late Antoinette (DiLeo) Piemonte.
He was employed as an executive banker – with a focus on risk management, compliance, and auditing – for nearly 50 years. Banks for which he worked included State Street Bank, Foxboro National Bank, Benjamin Franklin Savings Bank, Mechanics Cooperative Bank, Mansfield Bank, and Bluestone Bank.
Mike participated in Old Colony Habitat for Humanity, Pro Home, and Rotary Club of Mansfield.
He will be remembered for his big heart and generous spirit, always going the extra mile to make others happy – especially his family, whom he loved deeply and of whom he was very proud.
Mike enjoyed attending live music events with his wife and sons, dancing and singing along with the band and serenading his family with his own "unique" renditions of the songs.
Services for Mike will be held at the Charlie F. Oteri and Son – Franklin Funeral Home, 33 Cottage Street, Franklin, Mass., on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 9 a.m. He will be laid to rest at Newland Cemetery in Norton, Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association on Michael’s behalf.
