Obituary

Ruth Helen Samson passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in the loving home of her brother Evans and his wife Crystal, surrounded by family. Born on July 7, 1949, in Manchester, NH, Ruth faced many challenges throughout her life, yet she carried herself with remarkable strength, compassion, and resilience. She devoted herself to caring for others and found her greatest joy in the love of her family.

Ruth often said she understood that her life had not always been easy, yet she never allowed hardship to dim her spirit. Instead, she poured her energy into caring for others. For more than 17 years, she worked with the Moore Center, opening her home and her heart to the clients she supported. Caring for people wasn't just her job — it was who she was.

At home, Ruth found her greatest joy in her family. She loved cooking and baking for her loved ones, especially for her devoted husband, Raymond Samson, and for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family gatherings, no matter how big or small, were moments she treasured deeply.

Ruth had a playful side too. She enjoyed visiting the slot machines whenever she could, and she absolutely loved music. One of the memories we all hold closest is how she lit up when her favorite songs came on — the way her face softened, the way her body relaxed, and the way she would dance whenever she was able. Music brought out the purest joy in her, and it was impossible not to smile when she danced.

Ruth and Raymond shared 38 years of marriage, having wed on December 28, 1985. Their love for each other was steady, deep, and enduring. Our hearts find comfort knowing they are now reunited in heaven, dancing together once again to "Livin' on Love" by Alan Jackson.
