Joanne R. (Vital) Mackie, 68, of Westport, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Brigham and Womens Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jay Mackie.
Joanne was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Eugene R. Vital and Olivia (Carlos) Vital and had resided in Westport since 1982. Prior to retirement, she worked as a computer operator for the former Duro Textiles, Fall River. Her favorite days were ones spent at the beach or on the back of her and Jays motorcycle. She was an avid Aerosmith fan and cherished her adventures with her beloved dogs: Grip, Daisy, Harley and Willow.
Survivors include her 3 nieces: Kristen Vital-Cabral of Fall River, Katie Bean of Acushnet and Danielle Vital of Fall River; her 2 nephews: Marc Vital of NY and David Vital of MA; sister-in-law: Lucille Vital of New Bedford; along with many great nieces nephews.
She was the sister of the late David Vital and Paul Vital.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, March 20, 2026 at the Potter Funeral Home at 11:30 A.M. Memorial visitation will be Friday the 20th, from 9-11:30 A.M., prior to the service.
Interment to follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
