Obituary

Luzia (Ferreira) Figueiredo, 86, of Westport, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, March 7, 2026 with family by her side. She was the wife of the late Paul B. Figueiredo.

Mrs. Figueiredo was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Manuel and Deolinda (Paiva) Ferreira and had been a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to retirement, she worked as a bookkeeper for Cooperative Production, Inc., in Dighton for 18 years. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and roller skating with her family at the former Lincoln Park. She was a communicant of St. George Church and St. John the Baptist Church, both in Westport. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling and was an avid reader. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her 2 daughters: Brenda M. Pimentel and her husband Joe of Westport and Cheryl L. Serijan and her husband Michael of Harwich; her son: David P. Figueiredo and his wife Christine of Westport; 9 grandchildren: Erica, Tracey, Andrew, Brandon, Kara, Christian, Alec, Gabrielle and Autumn; 4 great grandchildren: Dominic, Shane, Lucy and Josie; along with many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Deborah A. DiSalvi and sister of the late Lorraine Carvalho.

Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.

Visitation will be Thursday, at the Potter Funeral Home from 9:30-10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
