CHICOPEE – David James Rivet, 70, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Monday, February 16, 2026. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by all the memories that he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on October 26, 1955, a beloved son of the late Ernest D. Rivet and Theresa P. (Lambert) Philibert. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and had lived in Chicopee his entire life. He was employed as a delivery man for Manny’s TV and Appliances for many years. During his leisure time, he enjoyed tinkering and finding answers to many questions. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his loving brother, Robert Rivet of Salisbury, VT; his three loving sisters, Sally Girouard of York Beach, ME, Eileen Killilea of Quincy and Diane Mendola and her husband, Carl, of Davie, FL; his cherished nephew, John Killilea and his wife, Kerrilee, of Quincy; his three cherished nieces, Kathleen Benoit and her husband, Jim, of Harwich, Cindy Heroux of Blandford and Laurie Killilea of Weymouth; his cherished grandniece, Nicole Heroux; his two cherished grandnephews, Jake Heroux and Kyle McMurray; and his many dear cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his two loving brothers-in-law, Dennis Girouard and Paul Killilea; and his cherished nephew, James Girouard. He will also be missed by his beloved canine companion, his Chihuahua, Casper. His funeral services and burial will be private.
