Obituary

John Graston Adams, 77, of Derry, NH, passed away Saturday March 7, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 28, 1948, in Haverhill, MA, a son of the late Allen and Ina (Bergeron) Adams. John proudly served his country in the US Air Force during Vietnam war.
A devoted family man, he was truly in his element when surrounded by nature and those he loved. Whether he was tracking through the woods at dawn or casting a line into a quiet lake, his passion for hunting and fishing was about more than just the sport—it was about the patience, stories, and deep respect for the outdoors he passed down to his children. Above all, his greatest legacy was the close-knit family he built; he worked hard to ensure they were supported and always found time to turn a weekend trip into a lifelong memory. He leaves behind a heritage of adventure, resilience, and an unwavering love for his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gail (Dumas) Adams, one son, Jason Adams and wife Marie; two daughters, Deana-Ann and husband Robert Corlis and Tracie Ann, ten grandchildren, Alex, Shelby, Brooke, Olivia, Paige , Emma, Lily, Jake, Hunter, and Natalia; and three great-grandchildren, McKenna, Trenton and Derek Jr.
Following cremation, memorial calling hours will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5 – 7 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 birch Street, Derry. Burial with Military Honors will be at a later date in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Foundation, PO Box 1583, Merrifield VA 22116-1583 or at https://support.nwf.org/page/58590/donate/1?locale=en-US
