William C. Hebard, 78

William C. Hebard, age 78, of Norton, passed away peacefully, in the presence of his loving family on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the home of his daughter in Attleboro.

Born in Framingham, MA on April 2, 1947, he was a son of the late William R. and Lydia (Gros) Hebard.

Bill grew up and was educated in Mansfield and was a graduate of the Boston Trade School, where he learned cabinetry. He next proudly served his country for three years during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army, where he learned water purification. Upon being discharged on October 29, 1970, Bill was assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia, where he ran the wastewater treatment plant and later went out on his own to his start and operate his own wastewaters service company.

Mr. Hebard had made his home in Norton for over fifty years and was well-known for his dedication and love for the Norton community. He was very active in Norton youth sports, the Norton Parks and Recreation Committee, was a member of both the Norton American Legion Post 222 and the Norton VFW Post 8049. Above all, Bill will always be remembered by all who knew him for his strong work ethics.

He is survived by his devoted children, William J. Hebard of Bourne, Shannon D. Yowell and her husband Jim of Attleboro, Paul G. Hebard and his wife Amanda of North Attleboro and Sara A. Hebard of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Droslynne, Etan, Brielle, Annabelle, Anna, Kason and the great grandfather of Chanler and Wyatt. He was the brother of Betse Tanguay and her husband David of Chicopee, Linda Ellis of Norton and the late Stephen McCoy and the late Christopher McCoy. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service in celebration of his life on a day and time to be announced at the Norton VFW, 38 Summer Street in Norton. Burial will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
