Ann Flynn, 65, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026.
Born on January 14, 1961, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, Ann was raised in Charlestown alongside her many siblings by her parents, Paul Flynn and Mary Nolan Flynn. She attended Julia Billiart Central High School, where she graduated as Valedictorian. Shortly after graduation, Ann proudly joined the Army National Guard, where she served for eight years. During her time in service, she met the love of her life, John Ward.
Ann and John married and built a life together centered on family and love. They welcomed their first daughter, Michaella, in April 1988, followed by their second daughter, Christine, in May 1989. The family made their home in Malden for many years before moving to Tewksbury in 2010.
Above all, Ann was deeply devoted to her family. She was her daughters’ biggest advocate, loving grandmother, immensely proud of her nieces and nephews, and a fiercely protective friend. She will be remembered for her humor, kindness, resilience, and quiet strength that drew others to her. Ann had a generous spirit and always gave to others, regardless of how much she had herself. She was known for her intelligence, strong work ethic, and her ability to help others navigate complicated situations with patience and care.
She enjoyed many simple but meaningful pleasures in life, including reading, traveling, drawing, and camping. For more than thirty years, Ann most loved her time spent camping with family and friends at Davison’s Campground. She also loved traveling with her husband John and their close friends Roy and Bea Lehto, and enjoyed many coffee dates and cherished moments with dear friends Adriana and Joanne.
Ann was a devoted Catholic whose faith and strength guided her throughout her life. She instilled in her daughters the values of resilience, grace, and kindness. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren, John Wermeske and Myra Pierce, who brought her tremendous joy.
Ann is survived by her loving daughters, Michaella Ward and Christine Ward; her beloved grandchildren, John and Myra; and her siblings Maureen O’Brien, Kathleen Flynn, Joseph Flynn, William Flynn, Christine Flynn, and Thomas Flynn. She is reunited in heaven with her husband, John, who passed away in March 2018, as well as her parents, Paul and Mary and siblings Paul Flynn, Barbara Flynn, Martin Flynn and Elaine Hennessey.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life in the spring, with details to be announced. Cremation services are being handled through Casper Funeral Services.
Ann’s daughters would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to family and friends for their unwavering support during her final months. They encourage anyone wishing to stay informed about the upcoming Celebration of Life to reach out to them. They take comfort in knowing that their mother is reunited with her one true love, their father, John.
Ann will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, strength, laughter, and warmth she brought to everyone who knew her.
