Philip Rosenfield Brodie of Peabody and formerly of Chelsea passed away unexpectedly on March 3. Philip was the beloved husband of Naomi L. Brodie. He was the loving son of the late Charlotte and Irving Brodie; and the devoted father of Brad Brodie and his wife Lauren, and Cori Brodie Levenson and her husband Adam. He was the loving Papa to Dani Brodie and Brayden Brodie, in addition to furry grandbaby Maddie.
Philip was the dear brother of the late Bill Brodie and his wife, the late Bobbi, and the late Eddie Brodie; and is survived by his sister-in-law Janet Brodie. He was the devoted brother-in-law of Adele and Mark Lubarsky; loving uncle to Shari and Tom Fabiani, Jami and Paul Marad, Lee and Lauren Lubarsky, Eric and Stephanie Lubarsky, Carolyn and John Cappola, and Katie O’Brien; and proud great uncle to Paige, Jacob, Sam, Matthew, CJ, Rileigh, Noelle, Brielle, Tommy, Kara, Max, Drew, Parker and Tucker.
Philip spent his early years in Chelsea and cherished summers at the cottage where lifelong friendships were formed. The family’s beloved childhood cottage in Salem, New Hampshire held treasured memories. He had a lifelong passion for football, and when he wasn’t watching you could find him on the field serving as a referee for many years. He also loved the excitement and camaraderie of the track with his friends. Family was his pride and joy and fond memories with all of his cousins. Phil’s legacy of love, sportsmanship, and friendship will live on in all who knew him.
Philip’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 8 at 11 AM at Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Avenue, Chelsea. Interment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Peabody.
The Brodie family would be grateful for consideration of a donation in Philip’s memory to Temple Ner Tamid, 368 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA 01960, or to the charity of your choice. For the online guestbook and directions, please visit www.torffuneralservice.com.
