Bobbie Jerlene Cook Cone, 88, of Omega passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2026, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John Bell officiating. Mrs. Cone will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Dusty Cone, Rory Bell, Faron Johnson, Michael Perry, Brandon Sutton, and Jamey Whitley will serve as pallbearers.
Born November 9, 1937, Mrs. Cone was the daughter of the late William Avery Cook and Julia Watson Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Cone, Sr.; one son, James Howard “Buddy” Cone, Jr.; and one brother, Bo Cook. Before retiring, she was a teacher at R. L. Mack HeadStart for 40 years; and she was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown.
Her grandkids and great-grandkids were the love of her life, and she loved spending time in her yard doing gardening.
Mrs. Cone is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Connie Cone of Tifton and Jason and Robin Cone of Saint Mary’s; one daughter, Lynn “Sissy” Cone of Omega; one brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lynn Cook of Tifton; three sisters, Juanita Perry and Joann Walker, both of Tifton and Marguerite Bell of Berlin; six grandchildren, Heather Cone Bishop and Chad of Fitzgerald, Jennifer Cone Sumner and Henry of Sumner, Adam Cone of Lenox, Dusty Cone of Tifton, Zachary Cone of Byron and Samuel Cone of Saint Mary’s; and eight great-grandchildren, C. J. Bishop, Jaycee Sumner, Caylin Bishop, Raynee Sumner, Hank Sumner, Ward Sumner, Cole Bishop and Julee Sumner
