Obituary

Patricia “Pat” (Dowd) Miller passed away on Sunday Morning, March 1st after battling a long-term illness. Pat, a longtime resident of Worcester and formerly of Coes Pond Village, will be remembered for her generosity, caring nature, and her devotion to her family and religion.
Pat was born into a large family, and cherished her relationship with each of her six siblings.
She is predeceased by her parents, Aurore and Augustine Dowd; her siblings, William Dowd, Barbara Anderson, Dorothy Feraci, Ruth Tebo, lifelong friend Marion Stockwell; three children, Patricia Grala, James J. Miller, and Michael Miller.
She leaves three children; Michele and her husband, Gary Rickert, Frances and her husband, Thomas Frost, and Sandra Miller and her fiance Dereck Carrier.
Pat's legacy is felt through generations. She leaves behind a crew of grandchildren and one great-grandchild; Christine and her husband, Jason Graven and their son Harrison Graven, Kelley and her husband, Christopher Kauppila, Sarah and her husband, Brian Dempsey, Courtney Rickert and her fiancé, Tyler Osman, and Abby Rickert. She also leaves her dear brothers, Ronald Dowd and his wife Lucetle, and Francis Dowd and his wife Carol.
Pat found her great love in the late James L. Miller. Though he passed at a young age, Pat lived the remainder of her life in his honor, and carried their legacy of love into the lives of their six children. May they be reunited for eternity.
Pat was a devout Catholic, and practiced her faith at Our Lady of the Angels Church. Her faith guided her through her life, and she valued her church community.
Pat was a quiet, kind, and generous soul. She enjoyed reading, watching Hallmark movies, drinking tea, card games with her loved ones, the Boston Bruins, and trips to Foxwoods Casino.
There are endless memories full of joy to remember Pat by. Pat was the type of person who would show up for her family, regardless of the cost. From her youth to her elder years, Pat took care of those she loved. She led her family with grace, despite the hurdles that life continuously threw her way. She is remembered in this grace and dignity.
Her visitation will be Friday, March 6th from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Her funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be held at a later date in St. John’s Cemetery.
