HIRAM- Ronald Rodney Miller, 77, of Hiram, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026. Born on July 22, 1948, in Porter, Maine, he was the son of the late Roland “Bunk” Miller and Mary “Addie” Woods Miller.
A proud member of the Porter High School Class of 1966 and a graduate of CMVTI, Ronald built his life around hard work, strong family values, and a deep love for the outdoors. He shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Janice McKenna Miller. Together they built a loving home and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Ronald is survived by his devoted wife, Janice, and their four daughters: Wanda Miller-Bryan and her husband Chris of Falling Waters, West Virginia; Kari Sawyer and her husband Terry of Kezar Falls, Maine; Tracey Fahey and her partner Keith Ouellette of Sheffield, Massachusetts; and Amanda Walker and her husband Steve of Tamworth, New Hampshire.
He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Jason, Adrienne, Brandon, Arielle, Matthew, Bobby, Rylee, Emily, Connor, and Gabriel, as well as their beloved partners. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren Calvin, Finley, Bryson, Tayleigh, and Olivia.
He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Miller and Joyce Lee. Ronald treasured the time he spent hunting and fishing with his nephews, Tony Miller and Darien Miller, whom he loved as sons. His faithful golden retrievers, Willow and Cooper, were constant companions who brought him great joy.
In addition to his parents, Ronald was predeceased by his brother, Donald Miller, and his nephew, Craig Miller.
An avid outdoorsman, Ronald found happiness in hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping—especially by the ocean with family and friends. Digging for steamers and fishing for striped bass were among his favorite pastimes, bringing him both peace and treasured moments with loved ones. He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and took great pride in tending his beautiful vegetable gardens.
Graveside services and a celebration of Ronald’s life will be held in the spring.
