Obituary

Bobby John Fletcher, USA CW3 (ret), 93, of Irwin County, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Atrium Health Navicent, in Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church, in Irwin County, Georgia, with the Rev. Ike Thomas officiating. His remains will be buried next to his wife, Sue, at the Big Creek Baptist Church cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.

Mr. Fletcher was born December 28, 1932, in Tift County, Georgia, to the late James Milton & Martha Lou Paulk Fletcher. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, retiring after 22 years as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. Mr. Fletcher also retired from the City of Tifton, after 16 years of service, as a warehouse superintendent. He was a faithful and devoted member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Fletcher is survived by his four children: Bobby J. Jr. and his wife Charlotte of Fayetteville, North Carolina, James M. and his wife, Wanda of Perry, Brian A. and his wife Barbara of Henderson, Nevada, & Joseph S. of Petersburg, Virginia and three stepchildren with Sue Howell Fletcher; Wanda Conger of Irwin County, Pam Barry and her husband, Dan of Brookfield, and David Conger & Mary Alice Lundy of Chula. Together, they had multiple grandchildren, and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Howell Fletcher; siblings: Pauline Dyess Duckworth and Glenn Fletcher.

Paulk Funeral Home, Fitzgerald, is in charge of arrangements.
