Stella “Esther” Block (Terban) of Revere and formerly of Peabody, Malden and Chelsea passed away peacefully on February 22. Stella was a forced to be reckoned with! She was an avid golfer, a devoted reader and also found deep contentment walking along Revere Beach.
Stella was the beloved wife of the late Leonard M. Block. She was the devoted mother of Michael Block and his wife Anita, Sandra Winter, and Martin Block and his wife Diana. Dear sister of Rita Singer and predeceased by siblings Jack Terban, Joseph Terban, Harry Terban, Bernard Terban, Frances Green, Shirley McLaughlin and Eleanor Strauss. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew Block and his wife Lindsay, Daniel Winter, Lauren Block-Garcia and her husband AJ, Kaitlyn Berkery and her husband Jeff, Leah Whelan and her husband Patrick and Maia Block. Also survived by great-grandchildren Sabrina, Jocelyn, Madelyn, Makenna, Montgomery, Arthur, and Connor. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Services on Monday, March 2, 11 AM at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Chelsea with interment to follow in Danvers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Care Dimensions Lincoln Hospice House, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or www.caredimensions.org.
