Lewis Edward McCrackin of Tifton, Georgia peacefully passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in Ashburn, Georgia. Lewis was born on May 6, 1947, in Reform Alabama, to his father, William Guy McCrackin and his mother, Mae Shelton-McCrackin.
Lewis worked as a logger for the majority of his life. He was a loving man with a heart for our Lord. He adored God’s creatures, especially dogs. He loved his family deeply and was a fierce protector of his girls.
Lewis was preceded in death by his baby brother, William Marvin McCrackin; their father, William; mother, Mae; sisters, Betty Jean Scarberry (Joseph Scarberry), and Gloria Ann Collier.
Our dear Lewis is survived by his daughter, Paula Rae McCrackin-Hopkins (Michael Hopkins); granddaughters, Paige Lynn (Gregory Kerrigan), and Brooke Kaylie Hopkins; as well as the love of his life, Evelyn Sue; sisters, Martha Louise, Sandra Gail, Rosa Etheredge, and many cherished nieces (great nieces) and nephews (great nephews).
