Obituary

Ronald N. Gilpatrick, age 88 passed away on Feb. 20, 2026. He was born on July 21, 1937 in Holyoke, son of the late Oscar James Gilpatrick and Diana (Gelinas) Gilpatrick. Ronald was a graduate of Chicopee High, class of 1954, he went on to attend UMASS Amherst for Animal Husbandry and then to AIC for Business. He served in the US Army and later was co-owner of Gilpatrick & Son Contractors. He owned Golden Nail Contractors and developed Bridle Path Estates and at that time was the only exclusive homes area around. He built many of the homes in Bridle Path. Later he was owner and president of Pro-Tech Waterproofing Solutions, Inc for over 40 years before he retired. He was a member of the Cursillo Movement, he was longtime member of the Aldenville Credit Union and was on board of directors for the Aldenville Credit Union (and as officers) for 30-35 years. He was involved with Downeyside and he was a member of the Home Builders & Remodelers Assoc also serving on the board of directors. He is survived by his wife Simone (Denault) Gilpatrick of Chicopee; three sons, Gill Gilpatrick of Chicopee, Matthew Gilpatrick and his wife Katie of Watertown, MA and Adam Gilpatrick and his fiancée Melissa of Chicopee; two daughters, Gisele Gilpatrick of Chicopee, Sara Tetreault and her husband Ed of Saint Matthews, South Carolina; 12 grandchildren, Freddy Gilpatrick of New York, Corey Gilpatrick and his girlfriend Caitlin Perez of Chicopee, Josh Malone and his wife Laura of Chicopee, Kali Foley and her husband Tony of Springfield, Ryan Malone and his wife Katy of Chemnitz, Germany, Tyler Gilpatrick, Kyle Gilpatrick, Selena Gilpatrick of Chicopee, James Gilpatrick of Watertown, Tyler Quinn-Rosario, Logan Riether and Austen Riether of Chicopee; four great-grandchildren, Aiden Gilpatrick, Brennan Foley, Blair & Noelle Malone. He is predeceased by his daughter-in-law Sharyl Gilpatrick, his brother Paul Gilpatrick and his sister Jeanne Muldoon. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Boston Medical Center Amyloidosis Clinic, Dr. John Berk and team for giving him and his family such wonderful care and extending his life an additional 8 years of his life. Calling hours will be held on Sat., Mar., 7th, 12 – 3 P.M. The family will be having a prayer service and words from family and friends at 2:30 P.M. at Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee, MA. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
