FORTINI, Ethel (Balboni) passed away peacefully on February 19, 2026 just shy of her 98th birthday, she was the beloved wife of the late Ferdinand “Nundo” Fortini. Ethel was born in 1928 on Oak Street in Wellesley. She is predeceased by bothers Larry and Mundo Balboni and sisters Ilea Costoldi, Alice Mills, and Dot Wojsznis. Ethel leaves behind her loving sons Paul Fortini and his wife Kathleen of Denver, Colorado and Peter “Nundo” Fortini and his partner Susan Bertolin of Bellingham. She also leaves seven cherished grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews and her dear best friend Daph Balboni of Natick.
Visitation will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. Wellesley on Friday, February 27th from 9:30am - 11:00am, followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
