
Josefa Semedo, 81, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on February 21st at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
Born in Assomada, Santiago, Cabo Verde, she was the daughter of the late Fransca Semedo. Josefa was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in cooking, caring for her home, attending church, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was known for her quiet strength, loving heart, and gentle presence.
Josefa is survived by her two sons, Armindo Rocha and Carlos Monteiro; her three daughters, Dulce Rocha, Carla Carvalho, and Maria DeFatima Vaz Lopes; four brothers, Victor Semedo Moreno, Zeferino Semedo Moreno, Joao Nazulino Semedo and Orlando Semedo Moreno; three sisters, Maria de Lourdes Semedo Moreno, Leocadia Semedo Moreno and Magda Semedo Moreno; twenty grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also leaves many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street, Brockton, on Wednesday, March 4th from 5:00–8:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5th at 9:00 AM, followed by Burial at Melrose Cemetery, 88 North Pearl Street, Brockton.
