Melissa Lee Peters, 56, of Lenox passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Ms. Peters at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Joseph L. Crumley will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born December 2, 1969, in Tifton, Ms. Peters was the daughter of the late Emory Laverne Peters and Cloise Hancock Peters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Christopher Peters. She loved her family and loved spending time with her grandkids. She also loved her partner of many years, Sam. She was a very witty person and loved flowers and her pets.
Ms. Peters is survived by her life partner, Sam Craven of Lenox; two sons, Michael Mullis, Jr. (Kirasten) of Tifton and Chad Elder (Jerome) of Savannah; two daughters, Brandi Creasman (Randy Gray) of Scooterville and Haley Peters (Alexis) of Enigma; three sisters, Laverne Webb (Steve) of Eatonton, Tracey Blanton of Tifton and Gennise Baldree of Sandersville; five granddaughters, Mariah Creasman, Jerri Dunkelberger, Savannah-Rose Mullis, Riley-Skye Mullis and Kelsie Mullis; and one grandson, Brandon Rugg.
